Individual and Family Therapy
I provide individual therapy to children ages 6 and up as well as to adolescents and adults. I place a special emphasis on involving families in the treatment of children and adolescents. Challenges affecting children and adolescents tend to affect the family system as a whole. Families can also serve as strong support systems for their children or teenagers. Adults may seek individual therapy for a variety of reasons. Some may require treatment for disorders that began during childhood and adolescence. Others may seek support with making difficult choices such as a career change or a life-changing financial decision. Many may struggle with one or more life transitions and require individual therapy to cope with these changes. Using an integrative approach, my goal is to provide clients with the skills needed to work through these challenges.
Oftentimes, there’s a need for more clarity or understanding of an individual’s needs. I perform psychological evaluations to assist in the DSM-V diagnosis of various disorders including depression, anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Intellectual Disorders and Learning Disorders. I also provide evaluations to determine the need for high stakes testing accommodations on assessments such as the ACT/SAT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, PCAT and MCAT. Psychological evaluations may include but are not limited to a clinical interview, assessments of thinking and reasoning abilities (also known as cognitive or intellectual functioning), academic achievement, social-emotional and behavioral functioning, personality, executive functioning and adaptive behavior. Each assessment battery is tailored to the information needed to provide appropriate recommendations and interventions.
For those in traditional public school districts, charter schools and virtual charter academies, I provide psychological evaluations for determining special education eligibility for services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Independent Education Evaluations (IEE’s) are also provided. Evaluations are also provided to public and private schools to help determine eligibility for gifted & talented programs. In addition, I provide consultation for the development, implementation and maintenance of school-based systems for supporting children with learning or behavioral challenges. These include Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), School-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), progress monitoring and processes for providing special education services, per state and federal guidelines.

Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Blue Care Network and AETNA are accepted for individual, family therapy and psychological evaluations. Please contact me regarding private pay arrangements for psychological evaluations and school-based services.
